After struggling for 5 and half weeks, we decided to go by formula instead of pumping breastmilk to feed. It was quiet challenge with all of infection and plugged ducts going on. Finding a time to pump between feeds was a another big challenge while Leland and I were alone at home. It was also time consuming to wash all of bottles and pump accessories at least 8 times a day. It was pretty a tough decision, but happy baby, happy daddy and happy mommy are more important than breastmilk.
Leland was pretty fussy during the first day when we switched to formula. However, he is quiet open to any kind of food and gets used to his new food pretty quick. =) Now, he is doing fine with formula and sleeping a lot better than his first month. Leland now is like an alarm. Every 3 hours, he cues for diaper changing and then milk time.
Leland is almost 6 weeks now.
